MAC Glamour Daze Lipstick - Beauty

My best friend knows me soooo well and got me MAC Glamour Daze Beauty Lipstick for Christmas.  What a great present it was!
MAC Glamour Daze Lipsticks are available in five shades: Beauty (pale cool pink), Dramatic Encounter (deep purple), Glamourdaze (mid-tone creamy plum), Innocence (soft coral), and Outrageously Fun (mid-tone magenta violet).
'Beauty' swatches as a warm baby pink hue with nude tones, perfect for those who like a nude hue with a bit of colour. The formula is very pleasing, perhaps one of my favourites from MAC as it glides on the lips effortlessly without clinging to dryness, leaving a wonderfully even finish.

MAC Lipstick - Pink Nouveau

I was soooo excited when I opened MAC Pink Nouveau on Christmas Day, I've been wanting this for ages.  Pink Nouveau is described by Mac Cosmetics as “Bright Pink” shade.  I would describe it as cool-toned pink lipstick or Barbie pink.
Pink Nouveau has satin formulation, giving a medium to full coverage on your lips. This shade has been made MAC famous, and you may have seen this on many celebs before like Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.
Overall I love this colour, I am very fair and didn't think this was going to suit my skin tone as it was a cool-toned pink but it looked great! Somehow made my skin look warmer.

MAC Lipstick - Pink Nouveau is available online and in-store at £14.00.

MAC Lipstick - Snob

MAC Lipstick - Snob is one of MAC's bestsellers, it has a satin (opaque matte) finish.

Satin finishes give a very good color-payoff, but I will need to use a hydrating  lip conditioner under it and a lip gloss on top of it to give it a more smooth finish. Snob is a very nice lady pink with a hint of lavender.   I find I get roughly 4-5 hours wear before I need to reapply.

It is a beautiful pop of pink that goes well with smokey eyes or a fresh day-time look.

MAC Shadestick - Butternutty & Tundra

A friend at work was selling discontinued MAC makeup at work and I couldn't be there quick enough! I picked up two Shadesticks from the MAC Me Over collection that was released back in August 2011.

Butternutty is a warm beige with a hint of peach. It has a frosted finish and Tundra is a bright silver with a metallic finish.  Shadesticks are twist-up eyeshadows that can be worn alone or as a base. They are more like a cream eyeshadow than a powder, but the formula does set quickly and dry down so it wears well on its own.

MAC Perfect Cheek Blush

I was very excited for the release of MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection and was very happy when my best friend brought me back MAC Perfect Cheek Blush from her holiday in Mexico.

The Marilyn Monroe collection came in these sleek black boxes that contain a red lip kiss on the inside flap. It is so cute! The front has the Marilyn pose picture in black and white. The actual blush container has the same picture of Marilyn on it in black and white and is also slightly see through.

MAC Perfect Cheek Blush is described as a “neutral pink beige.” It’s a rosy pink with neutral undertones and a matte finish.

The blush has great colour pay-off and doesn’t look dramatic, this type of colour will look great with a great variety of looks.  Because this blush has a matte finish it won’t emphasize any imperfections on my cheeks. MAC powder blushes have a great texture that’s easy to blend and lasts long on your skin.

MAC The Perfect Cheek didn’t disappoint me, it made my cheeks look perfect.

MAC Lipstick - Cut a Caper

MAC have realeased a new collection Heavenly Creatures and part of the collection is Cut a Caper Lipstick.

MAC Cut a Caper is a lustre finish lipstick and is officially listed as a "mid-tone peach pink". It is neutral in tone and will suit nearly everyone but it has to be noted that it is fairly sheer and does require building to gain full opaque coverage. I have found lustre formulas last for around two hours before it needs reapplying and doesn't dry your lips out.

MAC Cut a Caper Lipstick is available online and instore £14.00

Mac Sheer Select Pressed Powder NW25

I can't live without Mac Sheer Select Pressed Powder NW25 so when I'm coming to the bottom I have to quickly rush off to the nearest Mac Store to pick some up!
If you are wondering how to find the correct shade for Mac Foundations, Powders & Concealer, please see the below shade guide from sokissandmakeup.com;

The Letters stands for the different skin tones while the numbers refer to your skin's depth from 15 (fairest) to 55 (very dark skin)

N stands for Neutral skintones (Beige skin)
C stands for Cool skintones (Yellow, Golden, Olive skin)
W stands for Warm skintones (Pinkish skin)
NC stands for Neutral Cool skintones (Golden Beige skin)
NW stands for Neutral Warm skintones ( Pink Beige skin)

Now, to detemine your skin undertones take a look at your wrist or the underside of your arm.

If your veins are purplish blue - you have pink undertones
If your veins are greenish blue - you have yellow undertones
Mac Sheer Select Pressed Powder NW25 is my most used, recommended, re-purchased piece of make-up.

MAC says:
Micro-fine, sheer and silky. Pressed for portability. Goes on lightly. Won’t shift your shade or leave its mark. Lets skin’s natural vitality and freshness glow through. Comes with its own suede-finish sponge. Blurs lines. Makes skin look flawless.

I have to agree with every part of this. The texture of the powder is soft and fine. The compact is fragrance and shimmer free. While the powder has a sheer texture, the powder can easily be built up for superior coverage. A special mention for the puff applicator which comes with this compact must be made. It is the softest, most easy to use powder puff which picks up the powder competently and blends it effortlessly.

Mac Sheer Select Pressed Powder is available at Mac Online and Mac Stores Nationwide £19.00.

Mac Blush - Pink Cult

Mac Pink Cult Blush is part of the Reel Sexy Collection is described as a “mid-tone neutral pink” with a matte finish. It is a neutral-cool, light-medium pink with a slightly gray cast.
The texture of this blush is soft, slightly powdery due to its matte finish, but very blendable and easy to use. It’s one of those everyday shades that you can’t overdo, you can put as much as you’d like on because it has more of a neutral undertone, even though it does read a bit cool-toned in the pot, it will be a shade that adjusts against your natural skin tone in a very flattering way.
Mac Pink Cult Blush is available at Mac Online and stores Nationwide £17.50.

MAC Lipstick - Blankety

Blankety is a beautiful nude, pale pinky lipstick. It glides on effortlessly and is creamy. I have been eyeing this lipstick for about 2 months now and have been debating whether to get it or not. So when my boyfriend offered, I couldn't resist.

Mac Blankety is an amplified formula, so it is very pigmented and stays on your lips for ages. I find this a little more glossy than the rest of the lipstick I have in this formula, but I am not complaining as this doesn't dry my lips out at all. This is a great nude for me as I find lipsticks like Hue or Creme De Nude really hard to wear and this is just so easy as its the little bit darker.

MAC Blankety is available at MAC Online £13.50

MAC Eyeshadow - Girlie

My fab boyfriend treated me to this lovely Mac Eyeshadow, it's the perfect colour ............. PINK!
MAC Girlie is a mauve pink eyeshadow that has the slightest touch of shimmer. It's a darker pink when you see it in the pot, but once applied it goes to a very light shimmery, light-med pink.

It's well pigmented and looks great with my pale skin & blue eyes, it really makes them stand out. I think this looks nice with Phloof! in the inner corners and Girle on the rest of the eyelid.

MAC Girlie Eyeshadow is available at MAC Online £12.00

MAC Lipstick - Cremè Cup

I love creamy pink lip colours. I'm not a big fan of orangey/reds so I tend to stick to nudes and pale pinks. My mum picked up MAC Creme Cup for me at the airport, it's just the colour I would have picked for myself. Mac Cremè Cup is part of the Cremesheen family, I find cremesheen colours are very creamy in consistency and have good coverage.
It applies evenly, lasts a long time on the lips and doesn't dry me out. Also, the scent is delicious! I couldn't ask for anything more in a lipstick.

MAC Powder Blush - Lovecloud

MAC have so many limited collections coming out at the moment and I can't resist buying! Lovecloud is from the MAC Tres Cheek collection, which include six pretty colours, three pinks, a mandarin-red orange, a peach and a lavender.

Lovecloud is a very lovely bright pink with a satin finish. It can be sheer and also built on heavily which will show its blue based tone. I would say it is great for fair to medium skintone.

To me Lovecloud is very similar to Pink Swoon which is an even brighter pink, but when swatched (Right) it shows up to be more coral with a yellow base tone, where as Pink Swoon (Left) is the same as in the pot.

Overall I love Lovecloud as it feels warmer than Pink Swoon, great look for the summer but if you already have Pink Swoon then it's not worth buying this as they are so similar.

MAC Eyeshadow - Phloof!

MAC Eyeshadow Phloof! is a frosty whitish champagne with a hint of pink. It goes on a tad brighter than it appears like in the pot.
As with the other MAC Eyeshadow (at least the ones I have tried), it's quite pigmented so you don't need much product.
It's good as a neutral if you like shiny and shimmery colours. I think it' s a beautiful shadow not too light and not too glittery just like a pearly champagne. This colour is great for highlighting the inner corners of your eyes and browbone, it really makes your eyes pop. I will defiantly be buying this again.

MAC Eyeshadow - Phloof! is available at MAC Online £12.00

These are a few of my Favourite things - March 2012

It's the end of my 1st month blogging so I've decided to have a closer look at a few of my favourite products this month.

Fistly Garnier Ultra Softening Lotion - Shea Butter, a friend at work has been telling me about this body lotion and how soft it made her skin. So when it was on a special offer in Boots I decided to give it a go, each different scent depends on your skin type, it comes in aloe vera for normal skin, mango oil for dry skin, honey for sensitive skin and cocoa butter for dry and rough skin.

I went for Shea Butter (Dry to Extra Dry Skin). When applying the cream it didn't leave my skin tacky, it was very thin and extremely light. It smelt delicious and really did absorb instantly into my skin. I've been using this for about 5-6 days now and already I've noticed a difference, especially my elbows.

MAC Politley Pink is a slightly frosty shimmery pale pink which leans more to a cool-tone. I love this colour as I'm very pale and this lipstick is not too bright to wear as an everyday lipstick.

MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow has got to be one of my favourite MAC eyeshadow, it is a gorgeous pinky colour with a beautiful golden undertone. It makes a great colour to go with everything.

Lastly N-Spa Brightening Day Cream with SPF15 & Nourishing Eye & Lip Treatment. N-Spa has launched a series of skincare spa-inspired products with high street price tags. With prices starting at £3.00, I had to give them ago. Brightening Day Cream is packed full of anti-ageing Vitamin E, the lightweight liquid sinks in and smoothes in seconds, while the SPF promises to shield skin from the sun.

Shop MAC Lipstick - Innocence, Beware

I've been trying to get MAC Innocence, Beware Lipstick since it was launched in February but everywhere was sold out. So when I popped to Bluewater, House of Frasier on Wednesday I couldn't resist on going over to the MAC counter to check. To my amazement it was there!!
Mac Innocence Beware lipstick is a re-launch it was originally released with the Disney Villains collection and is officially described as a light yellow pink which I think it's more a milky nude. Which is some what similar to many light nude shades Mac produce such as Creme D'nude.

Like all MAC Lipsticks, this has a very light vanilla scent, which smells great.

Nicki Minaj - MAC Viva Glam Lipstick

I was so excited when a little black box appeared on my doorstep, I knew it could be only one thing.....MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick.

Nicki Mainaj & Ricky Martin are the new faces of 2012 Viva Glam releasing Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick & Viva Glam Ricky Lip Conditioner. The full price from the sale of these products goes toward helping women, men and kids affected by HIV and Aids.

MAC Viva Glam Nicki is described as a bright yellow pink, though in the tube it looks more coral to me. The formula of this is statin and has great coverage. It last for about 2-3 hours per application but my lips are dry so highlights dry patches so I make sure I wear lip balm.

I don't usually suit coral makeup as I'm so pale, but there's something about this lipstick. The pink tones make it wearable on me and I love it! It's so different to anything else in my makeup bag and it even makes me feel great when I'm wearing it!

Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick & Viva Glam Ricky Lip Conditioner is available from MAC Online £13.50
