Montagne Jeunesse Hot Chocolate Face Mask

I love laying in the bath on a Sunday evening with a face mask to wash away the week, this week I decided to try Montagne Jeunesse Hot Chocolate Face Mask.
The mask is a self-heating mask which contains chocolate to banish impurities, Mediterranean Clay to absorb oil, Orange Oil to revitalise and refresh skin as well as cocoa butter and vanilla. Hence it smells gorgeous - like a Terry's chocolate orange. I like self-heating masks and this is a good one, it warms up enough to feel like it's doing something, but not so much it gets uncomfortable.

April 2012 Glossybox

My April 2012 Glossy Box came through yesterday, It feels like ages since I got the infamous Harrods one so was quite exciting when it did come in the post.
I was very impressed with my April Glossybox, it arrived in a beige box rather than the normal pale pink. The theme for the April Glossy Box is "The Natural Box". Its nice to see another themed box. I do think these go down well and give a bit more consistency to the sampling theme.

What's In My Natural Box:

Inika Certified Organic Eyeliner - Electric Blue - This is one of my favourite products in the box and the only one I'm really looking forward to using. Electric Blue is a really pretty, bright sky blue colour. Apparently, it has a "rich and creamy consistency unparalleled in the world of natural liners." I don't know about that but it does apply really nicely and is very pigmented.
Figs & Rouge Lip Balm - Rambling Rose - I was so happy to see this in my April 2012 Glossybox, I've looked at these so many times on ASOS. It smells really nice, I do love that it is a multipurpose balm, so I can use it on my elbows and cuticles and well as my lips.
Kai Perfume Oil - Finally, was a weird little tube of Kai Perfume Oil. Most bizarre! I've never used anything like this before, but with gardenia and white exotics, this actually has quite a pleasant scent when applied to the pulse points of my wrist.
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum - Caudalie is a brand that i have never used before but what i do know is that the blogging world has been going absolutely crazy for the Caudalie Beauty Elixir recently. This is a new launched product that is ultra concentrated and is plant based. It is a really thin serum that looks like water and is to be used before you apply your moistriser.
Ayuuri Natural Body Wash - Coconut - This smells so good, it really reminds me of the body shop coconut shower gel.

Overall I'm very happy with this months glossybox specially the eyeliner & lip balm. Next month is Glossybox’s first birthday so their next box is going to be quite special I’m sure!!

NOTD - Pink Glitter

I wanted to paint my nails in something girly, so today I have gone for Models Own Pro 024 Rosewood Pink & GOSH Nail Glitter Rose Quartz. I love how these have turned out!!
I have used two coats of Models Own Pro 024 Rosewood Pink, I find the consistency is really nice, the first layer i put on is quite thin and the second layer is a bit more thick, but it dried fantastically. I do love Models Own polishes, they are so well pigmented and they glide on so smoothly.

I have then painted my ring finger, while the nail polish was still wet I dip my finger into the glitter making sure it's all covered. I then cleaned up the edges with a cotton bud dipped in some nail polish remover and voila! Pink Girly Nails!

Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry Shower Gel

I just had to do a quick review of this shower gel because, it smells so good you could eat it! It smells just like raspberry milkshake!

It comes in the normal orignal source bottle, black flip top lid on the bottom and the bold pink writing. As soon as you open the bottle you are hit with the sweet, fruity and very natural smells. I find it lathers very well and leaves me feeling clean and relaxed.

Also according to Original Source, Vanilla Milk and Raspberry shower gel should leave you feeling moisturised, whilst I haven't actually noticed any moisturising qualities after using it my skin hasn't felt dried out either. Original source only use natural ingredients in their products and it shows. They smell so natural, there's nothing false or chemical about them.

It's so good I even picked up the Handwash!

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Nourishing Hand Cream

This product was an impulse buy! These Garnier Hand Creams were reduced to £1.99 instead of £2.99 in Superdrug so I snapped one up as I love a good hand cream.
Garnier Intensive 7 Days Nourishing Hand Cream is for moderately dry, rough hands. It contains Mango Oil so as you can imagine it is really nicely scented.

It dries quickly, and leaves your hands feeling moisturised, soft, and non-greasy. I also love the texture, it is not too runny when you squeeze it out of the tube, making it easy to control the amount of product. The only downside is that unlike its claims, it does wash out with soap, but you can always reapply anyway since it dries fast.

This is the perfect hand cream for my needs, and at £2.99, I think that's a bargain price. Will definitely be purchasing once this runs out.

MAC Lipstick - Cremè Cup

I love creamy pink lip colours. I'm not a big fan of orangey/reds so I tend to stick to nudes and pale pinks. My mum picked up MAC Creme Cup for me at the airport, it's just the colour I would have picked for myself. Mac Cremè Cup is part of the Cremesheen family, I find cremesheen colours are very creamy in consistency and have good coverage.
It applies evenly, lasts a long time on the lips and doesn't dry me out. Also, the scent is delicious! I couldn't ask for anything more in a lipstick.

GOSH Nail Glitter - 13 Topaz Lavender

I was looking around Superdrug in my lunch break and stumbled across GOSH Nail Glitter. There are 10 glitters in the collection, but unfortunately only 6 were available in the store I was looking in. I picked up Topaz Lavender £4.99 each.

They're really easy to use, just paint your nails with whatever colour you like, I have used Miss Sporty - Lilac. While the nail polish is still wet, dip your finger nail into the glitter making sure it's all covered. Clean up the edges with a cotton bud dipped in some nail polish remover and voila! Bright sparkly nails!

When the glitter is applied your nails do feel a bit rough and the look will only last a couple of days. This is not a problem though as this is probably a look that would be worn for parties and nights out, rather than days in the office.

You will find Gosh Nail Glitter exclusively in Superdrug. RRP £4.99

MAC Powder Blush - Lovecloud

MAC have so many limited collections coming out at the moment and I can't resist buying! Lovecloud is from the MAC Tres Cheek collection, which include six pretty colours, three pinks, a mandarin-red orange, a peach and a lavender.

Lovecloud is a very lovely bright pink with a satin finish. It can be sheer and also built on heavily which will show its blue based tone. I would say it is great for fair to medium skintone.

To me Lovecloud is very similar to Pink Swoon which is an even brighter pink, but when swatched (Right) it shows up to be more coral with a yellow base tone, where as Pink Swoon (Left) is the same as in the pot.

Overall I love Lovecloud as it feels warmer than Pink Swoon, great look for the summer but if you already have Pink Swoon then it's not worth buying this as they are so similar.

NOTD - Leopard Print

Just a quick post to show you my latest design, I was inspired by one of my post Latest Nail Art.
I have used two coats of Models Own Nude Beige. Then on my ring fingers I have added Barry M - 279 Bright Pink and made the leopard print with Models Own WAH Nail Art Pen. Perfect!

Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer - Tinted Self-Tan Gel

I love fake tan, I can't live without it! I am so pale and even in the sun I don't tan, this is where self-tan comes in handy.

Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer - Tinted Self-Tan Gel is probably the best self-tanner I have ever used. I have tried so many different fake tans over the years but this is a great colour and so easy to apply.

The gel is slightly tinted, so it's easy to see where you need to apply, also of your in a rush you don't need to wait for it to develop (3-4 hours) as it is a nice light brown when applied. The gel texture absorbs easily and drys quickly - leaving skin feeling quite fresh and cool.

When the self-tan is developed it is a nice dark brown, but I do find if I apply a second coat it does appear a bit orange for my skin type.

Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer - Tinted Self-Tan Gel is available from Boots - £11.49.

Latest Nail Art

I love trying out new designs on my nails, not all of them work but these are a few of my latest designs;

Bows & Dots - This design I saw on another blog called Makeup Savvy, I have used Miss Sporty Clubbing Colour - Gold & Models Own WAH Nail Art Pen. I have painted two coats of Gold, once this dried I used the Nail Art Pen to draw on the bow and dots.

Strips - I have used Miss Sporty Clubbing Colour - Gold, Barry M - 47 Black & OPI - Sparkle-Icious. Again I have painted two coats of Gold, then using the Black nail varnish I have painted this diagonally. Just on the tip I have then used my OPI - Sparkle-Icious.

Ladybird - I think this is so cute, I have painted two coats of Barry M - 262 Bright Red, then on the tip I have used Barry M - 47 Black. Using the Models Own WAH Nail Art Pen I drew a line down the middle and drew on the dots.

Leopard - I love this, I have used two coats of my favourite colour Models Own Nude Beige. Then I have drawn on the dots with Barry M - 279 Bright Pink and made the leopard print with Models Own WAH Nail Art Pen. This is the same as my WAH Nails Post.

Dots - Lastly this is very similar to my Minnie Mouse Nails Post, I love Barry M - 308 Berry polish, I added white dots using my nail art pen to give it a girly touch.

Summer Scents For The Home

I am obsessed with scented candles and wax tarts. I forever have a few burning away at home. I want to show you a couple I have collected over the last few weeks ready for the summer.

Firstly I have picked up a few Yankee Candles & Wax Tarts, Home Sweet Home Candle is a warm cinnamony scent, that really lingers in the room. To me, it's a comforting scent and really makes me feel "at home", even though cinnamon is a winter scent the sweetness of the fruit really comes through a makes it a scent for all year round.

Pink Sands Candle is a beautiful mix of bright citrus, sweet florals and spicy vanilla. For some reason, every time I smell this it reminds me of these little watermelon sweets I used to eat.

I went away to Knutsford a month ago and picked up Hidden Jem Kiwi & Apricot Candle from a really cute little shop for my mum for mothers day. It smelt so beautiful and sweet that I had to buy myself one, perfect for a summer night in.

Lastly Lily-Flame Fairy Dust Candle I don’t really know how to describe it. It’s almost like fabric softener, but nicer.

Yankee Candles are available online at Yankeecandle.co.uk
Hidden Jem Kiwi & Apricot Candles are available online here.
Lily-Flame Fairy Dust Candle is available at John Lewis.

Easter Nails - Barry M 264 - Pink Iridescent

Easter has inspired me to paint my nails a nice spring colour. I have chosen Barry M-318 Peach Melba & Barry M-264 Pink Iridescent.
I think 318-Peach Melba looks a bit dull on it's own as you need three coats to get full coverage but with 264-Pink Iridescent it looks great!
I've even painted my toes with Barry M-308 Berry and Barry M-264 Pink Iridescent but you'll have to take my word that they look lovely as I won't be taking pictures of my ugly feet!

All Barry M nail varnishes are available at Barry M Online £2.99 each.

Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

Instead of an chocolate egg this year I've treated myself to a very sweet, very delightful Lush Fluffy Egg.

It is bright pink, and has the same scent as the popular Snow Fairy shower gel which is released at Christmas! It smells like sweet bubble gum/candy which is gorgeous! I usually go for more fruity and citrus scents, but this really is an exception for me.

I've not dropped this into the bath yet as I'm saving this for tomorrow night but looking at reviews it fizzes well, turns the bathwater a pretty pink, and has the same gorgeous scent.

I'm looking forward to using it!

Lush Fluffy Eggs are available for a limited time at Lush £2.95 each.

Barry M - 325 Denim

Barry M nail varnishes are one of my favourites, the colour range is fab and they are frequently bring out new colours for all seasons. At £2.99 in Boots or Superdrug you can't go wrong!

On a little trip to Superdrugs today I picked up my newest nail varnish to add to my collection, 325 Denim.
Barry M 325 Denim is a glittery navy blue, it defiantly lives up to the name and looks like denim. The colour is well pigmented and glides on well, you could get away with one coat but I've used two coats to make it a bit darker.

I love this colour as 9 times out of 10 I wearing jeans and this colour matches lovely.

MAC Eyeshadow - Phloof!

MAC Eyeshadow Phloof! is a frosty whitish champagne with a hint of pink. It goes on a tad brighter than it appears like in the pot.
As with the other MAC Eyeshadow (at least the ones I have tried), it's quite pigmented so you don't need much product.
It's good as a neutral if you like shiny and shimmery colours. I think it' s a beautiful shadow not too light and not too glittery just like a pearly champagne. This colour is great for highlighting the inner corners of your eyes and browbone, it really makes your eyes pop. I will defiantly be buying this again.

MAC Eyeshadow - Phloof! is available at MAC Online £12.00

Soap & Glory Clean on Me and The Righteous Butter

I LOVE SOAP & GLORY!! I've been using Soap & Glory for years now and cant fault any of their products. Clean on Me and The Righteous Butter are two of my favourite products, they're always on my Brithday & Christmas Lists.

Clean on Me Shower Gel is beautifully packaged. The pink logo with a retro black and white photo of a lady who clearly enjoys showers as much as I do! This is a big reason I love soap and glory, each product has a quirky name and a vintage picture.

A 500ml bottle lasts forever making it very good value, clean on me lathers up beautifully and leaves your skin so soft and clean. It smells fruity-floral but the scent doesn't last too long which is a good thing as it won't interfere with perfumes.

The Righteous Butter comes in a tub with a screw top lid, very similar to The Body Shop Butters. This packaging is very easy to use as it is easy to scoop out the desired amount of product or if I grab too much it is easy to put some back.

I love the consistency of this butter it rich and creamy yet sinks right in without a greasy feel. The smell is pleasant again fruity-floral but is a bit stronger than the Clean on Me Shower Gel.

All Soap and Glory products are available from Boots, Clean on Me Shower Gel £5.50 and The Righteous Butter £10.50.

These are a few of my Favourite things - March 2012

It's the end of my 1st month blogging so I've decided to have a closer look at a few of my favourite products this month.

Fistly Garnier Ultra Softening Lotion - Shea Butter, a friend at work has been telling me about this body lotion and how soft it made her skin. So when it was on a special offer in Boots I decided to give it a go, each different scent depends on your skin type, it comes in aloe vera for normal skin, mango oil for dry skin, honey for sensitive skin and cocoa butter for dry and rough skin.

I went for Shea Butter (Dry to Extra Dry Skin). When applying the cream it didn't leave my skin tacky, it was very thin and extremely light. It smelt delicious and really did absorb instantly into my skin. I've been using this for about 5-6 days now and already I've noticed a difference, especially my elbows.

MAC Politley Pink is a slightly frosty shimmery pale pink which leans more to a cool-tone. I love this colour as I'm very pale and this lipstick is not too bright to wear as an everyday lipstick.

MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow has got to be one of my favourite MAC eyeshadow, it is a gorgeous pinky colour with a beautiful golden undertone. It makes a great colour to go with everything.

Lastly N-Spa Brightening Day Cream with SPF15 & Nourishing Eye & Lip Treatment. N-Spa has launched a series of skincare spa-inspired products with high street price tags. With prices starting at £3.00, I had to give them ago. Brightening Day Cream is packed full of anti-ageing Vitamin E, the lightweight liquid sinks in and smoothes in seconds, while the SPF promises to shield skin from the sun.
